Jens Andersson is a Swedish born designer currently residing in Amsterdam with over 15 years of experience in the field of industrial design.
He holds a BaSc in Product Design engineering from the University of Skovde, Sweden and a MA in Industrial Design from the Umea Institute of Design, Umea University, Sweden. After starting his career working at top-tier design agencies in Sweden, Denmark and the US he continued to join the in-house design team at Philips in Amsterdam, Netherlands.
The projects and work he has been working on spans a wide variety of products ranging from medical products and consumer electronics through construction equipment and connected propositions.
During six years at Philips, the work has consisted of leading the experience design of various projects mostly within the male grooming business. As a lead designer he was interfacing with I&D and marketing while orchestrating all activities related to experience design throughout the full experience journey for the products. This includes color, material, finishing, surfacing, consumer testing, UX and UI development for product and connectivity.
During the last two years in male grooming he was leading the design development and framework for a new generation shavers. This included close collaboration on a business level and planning of roadmaps for technical development as well as defining the experience for products living in a connected future.
In 2018 he joined the Brand licensing team of Philips as a Design Manager where he is helping companies licensing the Philips brand to create on brand experiences.
